Is Pro worth it?
Pro is worth it when you want to understand your Claude Code costs, not just reduce them. It adds six intelligence tools: session history, spending alerts, distillation breakdown, preset advisor, CSV export, and 12-month data retention, on top of the core token optimization that Free already provides. At ~€240/mo in savings the rates become equal; above that, Pro is also cheaper.
What is the Free tier?
You pay nothing if The Distillery saves you less than €20 in a month. Above that threshold, the fee is 15% of the excess savings with no cap.
How is the fee calculated?
Three tiers apply different rates. Free: 15% of savings above €20/mo, nothing if savings stay below the threshold. Pro: €9/mo base plus 10% of all verified savings. Teams: €29/mo base plus 5% of all verified savings. Example: €240/mo in savings on Free = €33/mo fee. Same savings on Pro = €9 + €24 = €33/mo. Pro becomes cheaper above roughly €240/mo.
Do you see my code?
No. Context distillation and deduplication run locally on your machine. Only token counts sync to our servers, never the content of your prompts.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Billing is monthly with no minimum term. Cancel from the dashboard and your account reverts to the Free tier at the end of the billing period.
What if The Distillery doesn't save me anything?
On the Free plan, you pay nothing. On Pro or Teams, the base fee (€9 or €29) is still charged, covering access to the service, not just savings. Check your savings dashboard before upgrading to Pro or Teams.
